Stone was born in Kentucky’s Louisville on 11 May 1994. He studied at Kentucky’s St. Xavier High School and graduated from there in 2012. He then attended Indiana State University through a football scholarship. He opted for a major in communications but ended up getting himself transferred to Stephen F. Austin university after just 2 years. He failed to complete college there as well and ended up dropping out in 2016. The same year, he was charged with drug trafficking and got himself sentenced to 4 months of house arrest.
During the months he spent under house arrest, Stone got deeply invested in rap and having a career in it. He started working on his music and released his debut single titled “Stains” in December 2017. Stone used to go by the name “Big Gee” around that time and released the song under the same name. “Stains” has 3 million views on his YouTube channel today. He started growing on YouTube and developed a local fanbase offline as well.
In 2019, he released two mixtapes on YouTube and other platforms. His collab with Sada Baby on Taught Different turned out to be his biggest hit that year. Not all went for him in 2019 as in September that year, Gee and his brother were shot at by armed men. Fortunately, both of them managed to survive the shooting.
After two mixtapes, Stone broke onto the mainstream scene with his third and fourth mixtapes titled Ion Feel Nun and I Still Don’t Feel Nun. By this time, Stone had changed his stage name to EST Gee where EST stands for “Everybody Shines Together”. Gee signed his first professional contract with a label in 2021 when he was signed under Collective Music Group, Warlike, and Interscope Records. Around this time he collaborated with rapper Lil Baby on his song “Real as It Gets”. It turned out to be his biggest hit so far and was also his first song to appear on the charts. The song brought him mainstream attention to levels he had not before and he successfully capitalized on it.
He released his 5th mixtape in July 2021, titled Bigger Than Life or Death. The mixtape reached number 7 on the Billboard 200 on its topic and sold more than 30k copies. A sequel to the mixtape was released months later. In April 2022, he released his 6th mixtape in a collaboration with rapper 42 Dugg.
Gee’s YouTube channel is pretty successful as well and all of his music videos have more than 468 million views combined. His channel is also subscribed to by 446k users.
