Senator Tweets Video Supposedly Showing Ballots Transported in Private Cars: Voting Fraud?

Headlines are being made right now in the midst of this event that is being talked about ad nauseam, the midterm elections. A major election recount is underway with Broward County, Florida at the center of it, and to fuel the flurry of media coverage, Florida Senator Marco Rubio took to Twitter to share a video allegedly showing ballots being transported on election night, by private, shady looking cars.

Tim Canova, an Independent Congressional candidate was the original person to publish the video, a person who recently lost to Debbie Waserman Schultz for the 23rd congressional district of Florida.

“Caught On Video: ballots being transported in private vehicles & transferred to rented truck on Election night,” Canova wrote in a Tweet on Thursday. “This violates all chain of custody requirements for paper ballots. Were the ballots destroyed & replaced by set of fake ballots? Investigate now!”

This video,posted by an Independent Cong candidate in 18 (who was endorsed by Bernie Sanders in 16) purports to show BrowardCounty ballots being transported from polling places in private cars.

To think that politicians are now using Twitter the way they currently are is astounding. A politician does not say something for no reason: just about everything they do is for some kind of strategic reason, as a generality, and that includes crafting an image of being somebody who isn’t constantly conniving or trying to use their statements strategically.

It’s like Twitter has changed the game for politicians, and the amount of time some of them spend using that platform, to say all kinds of things, is unbelievable in 2018.

Rubio proceeded to Tweet the video from his own account, in which he wrote: “This video, posted by an Independent Cong candidate in 18 (who was endorsed by Bernie Sanders in 16) purports to show Broward County ballots being transported from polling places in private cars. Has anyone in local media looked into this claim or asked elections dept about it?”

This is what people might call a real “partisan issue.” People on the right side of the political spectrum will say this is an indication of voter fraud if they lost. If people on the left side lost, they would believe this is voter fraud as well.

The actual evidence that fake ballots were used, or some kind of thing was going on, well it’s difficult to verify at this point.

What can safely be concluded by any person who sees this? Just like how it has always been, multiple, powerful individuals and groups of individuals have extremely high stakes invested in the result of elections, from a midterm election, to a presidential election.

The potential for corruption when it comes to voting is inherently so enormous, if people are not naive and understand how power and corruption works in this world, how could anybody possibly think voter fraud doesn’t take place on a regular basis?

The extent to which voter fraud has occurred in the past, to the favor and detriment of both supposed sides of the political spectrum, is probably greater than any of us can possibly imagine.

In other words, people would be wise to again trust no one, and people would be even wiser to choose what they think about and read about with their own intent, rather than picking up on trends set by other people, issues to focus on, things to be enraged about, ect.
